We’re just a few weeks away from Administrative Professionals Day and are thrilled to announce the finalists for the 2018 Office Hero of the Year Award! Narrowing down the nominations to just four finalists was no easy task. We received hundreds of inspiring nominations for Office Heroes all over the country. So, how did we choose? We judged nominations based on the impact the nominee has on their organization and the quality of stories we received.
Now, we’re asking you to help us choose the winner! Meet our four finalists below and place your vote for your favorite!
Neriel Ponce
Job: Administrative Coordinator
Company: Border Crossers
Location: New York, NY
What we love about Neriel:
Neriel brings his full self to his work: his racial justice organizing background, his love for humanity, his sense of humor, his diligence, and his commitment to getting everything done and not letting anything slip through the cracks. Neriel has a unique and incredible ability to build authentic relationships and communicate genuinely with everyone he engages in his day to day work, which makes operations smoother, more consistent and more enjoyable.
Julie Cislo Sykes
Job: Student Services Coordinator
Company: Infosec Institute
Location: Elmwood Park, IL
What we love about Julie:
Julie coordinates events across the US, making sure that every attendee gets their meal at lunch and dinner. She coordinated multiple week-long events for our company, with some events at the same location week-after-week. And she did it with ease. Julie supports Infosec’s students every week!
Naomia Sims
Job: Administrative Assistant
Company: Bank of America
Location: Charlotte, NC
What we love about Naomia:
My team was scrambling at the last minute to organize a training, and all the rooms were booked. I noticed that Naomia was listed as the manager for a private room that would accommodate my team, so I reached out to Naomia and she went out of her way to grant us access to the private room (usually only available for employees in a specific division). Additionally, Naomia entered almost 100 names into the visitor system so that we could access the room. She even met the caterers to ensure lunch was set up appropriately.
Haley Measures
Job: Administrative Support Concierge
Company: PwC
Location: Dallas, TX
What we love about Haley:
Haley is the epitome of an Administrative Support Concierge with PwC. For over three years she has been accomplishing the impossible by providing flawless support for some extremely demanding partners, backing up teammates so they can take vacation, volunteering on multiple committees to improve the function of the ASC, leading meetings and keeping others on task, and becoming a subject matter expert always willing to train large and small groups or help one-on-one. She is the “sunshine” of our team and her positivity definitely influences those around her. She is always smiling, even through the craziness, and handles every situation with grace.
