As the Market Development Specialist at Buffalo Wild Wings, Danielle is adept to juggling multiple tasks at once. That’s one reason why she’s a finalist in our Office Hero of the Year competition. Originally starting her career in insurance, Danielle was hungry for a change. When she got an opportunity to give the restaurant industry a try at Buffalo Wild Wings, she jumped on it and has been hooked ever since. Most recently, Danielle moved from a role in operations support to market development.
We spoke to Danielle to learn about her favorite hacks for staying efficient and connected to her team.
What’s your favorite time-saving trick?
Sharing information is my favorite time-saving trick. By utilizing my team members and sharing work, it ensures we’re not wasting time and duplicating efforts. It’s all about being as efficient as possible.
What is your workspace setup like? Is there any tool or device that you can’t live without?
I just moved from a cubicle into an open workspace. I love the people I work with so it’s great to be easily accessible to each other. And I can’t live without having two monitors.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love that I can make a difference to our restaurants out in the field. It’s a rewarding feeling knowing that I’ve done something to help make their job easier.
In our experience, office heroes are constantly busy and wear a lot of hats. How do you stay focused at work?
I prioritize what needs to be done and when. I’m big on lists. Currently, I’m focused on my new role but I’ve also kept myself available to the people who took over my old responsibilities. I want other people to be successful, and that helps me be more successful, too.
“Danielle has her finger on the pulse of what is going on and where there are gaps in the planning. She has stayed late, come in early and gone above and beyond to make sure that our field people are well taken care of.”
Office snacks: sweet or salty?
Salty snacks are the first thing to go here! Chips tend to be an office favorite.
How do the personal relationships you have at work help you maintain your office hero status?
I’ve found that maintaining good relationships will only help you be more successful in your position. Know your co-workers and know what they are working on. Be a listening ear. Be there for them and they’ll be there for you.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Just treat people the way you want to be treated. I’m the type of person who will treat the CEO the same way as the person who cleans the bathroom. We are all people at the end of the day.
Who’s your hero?
At work, my hero is Todd Kronebusch, the new VP I work for. I love that he treats his team very well and we all respect him for it. He’s honest, he’s open, he fights for his team, and genuinely cares for us as people.
